Jiaxi Wang is a PhD candidate in the Department of Architecture and Design (DAD) at Politecnico di Torino. She holds an MA from the Florence Academy of Fine Arts, where she specialized in Visual Arts and New Expressive Languages, Ecological Arts, and Interactive Arts. Her research and practice address environmental topics—ecology, botany, and climate change—and she has held positions at several museums, curating major exhibitions for contemporary artists such as Tomás Saraceno.
Drawing on her interdisciplinary background in architecture and data art, she combines hand-drawn and digital techniques to transform complex scientific data into aesthetically engaging, easily understandable imagery. Simultaneously, she employs creative coding, real-time graphics, and virtual reality to craft immersive data-visualization experiences at the intersection of digital and physical spaces. Her work not only enables audiences to intuitively grasp climate dynamics and ecosystem behaviors but also fosters deep reflection and active engagement with environmental issues in public settings.
