Biography

Civil Engineer specialized in Geotechnical Engineering.
During my path as a Master’s student and while writing my thesis on "Numerical Modelling of the Interaction between a Highway Tunnel and a Large Landslide", I had the opportunity to develop an interest in the tunnelling world and in studying and resolving problems concerning the design of tunnel excavations in difficult conditions (squeezing). Furthermore, the experience gained during a research scholarship on the "Maintenance of Highway Tunnels" at the Polytechnic of Turin, as well as my work experience at the engineering company Geosolving Srl, allowed me to improve my knowledge in advanced numerical modelling of geotechnical problems, structural monitoring of tunnels, monitoring of unstable slopes and the study of soil-structure interaction. Since November 2023, I have been a PhD student in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin, where I am dealing with the study of the viscoplastic behavior of geomaterials (creep) with the aim of developing a tool useful for underground works design in presence of creep phenomenon, as well as studying the evolution of soil-structure interaction due to the presence of soils and/or rock masses with time-dependent behavior.
