Biography

Marco Pogliano (Turin 1998) is a Ph.D. student at Politecnico di Torino, Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, and a member of the eLiONS research group. He received his Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Biomedical Instrumentation, from the Politecnico di Torino in 2020 and 2022, respectively. During his studies, he developed an interest in electronics and biomedical signal processing for vital parameters monitoring. His master's thesis, titled "Contactless human vital signals monitoring based on a FMCW Radar," focused on developing a respiratory rate monitoring system based on millimeter-wave radar under the supervision of Prof. Danilo Demarchi. During this period, he also delved into the innovative use of filament 3D printers as chest movement simulators for constructing test-benches. From this experience, his increased interest in biological signal processing led him to work on the study of electrical impedance applied to respiratory analysis, funded by a research grant at Politecnico di Torino. Among other activities focused on analyzing physiological parameters, he also devotes himself to the study of Pulse Wave Velocity, specifically through impedance measurements, and constructing predictive models on signal sampling sites different from those in the literature. In November 2023, he began his Ph.D. program at the Politecnico di Torino in collaboration with Leonardo company, focused on developing a prototype for real-time workload analysis of pilots.
