Biography

I obtained both the Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino in October 2020 and March 2023, respectively. During my Master's degree, I selected the Bionanotechnology specialisation and dedicated myself to the experimental thesis, with the objective of developing collagen, chitosan and silk fibroin formulations for 3D printing of scaffolds for potential use in skin injury regeneration. In April 2023, I joined the IRIS group as a research fellow. My role involved the design and development of natural polymer-based formulations for seed coating by electrospinning, with the aim of enabling the incorporation and delivery of plant growth-promoting microorganisms (PGPM). Additionally, I contributed to the development of a solid electrolyte using natural polymer-based formulations, created through the electrospinning technique, for use in lithium batteries. Furthermore, I was involved in the REBORN project, funded by the Horizon Europe programme, which dealt with the synthesis of polymeric nanoparticles based on polylactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) and loaded with anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic drugs. I am currently starting my PhD in Materials Science, focusing on the realisation of 3D structures at the micro/nanoscale through sustainable additive manufacturing processes for the biomedical, energy and environmental sectors.
