Biography

Irene Rechichi received her Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering (Major: Biomedical Instrumentation) from Politecnico di Torino in 2019.
She is currently PhD Candidate at Politecnico di Torino, where she attended the PhD Program in Computer and Control Engineering.
Her research focuses on the analysis of human sleep as a marker of neurodegeneration.
Her research interests include: technologies for minimally-invasive sleep studies, Machine Learning for automatic sleep analysis, computer-assisted diagnosis of sleep disorders, innovative strategies and solutions for the continuous and lightweight monitoring of sleep disorders in Parkinson's Disease.
During her PhD, she cooperated with the Dept. Neuroscience at the University of Turin and the Dept. Neurology of the Medizinische Universität Innsbruck (Austria), where she also worked as Visiting PhD Student.

  • [Dissemination activity] Invited speaker at a plenary session at the Italian Congress on Movement Disorders (7° Congresso Accademia LIMPE-DISMOV), 15th-17th December 2021. The plenary session talk, held with Dr Mauro Rizzone (Dept. Neurology and Neuroscience, University of Turin), focused on the challenges and opportunities of technology in Parkinson's Disease. I discussed the role of Telemedicine in Parkinson's Disease and presented the outcome and current advancements of the joint work between our research group and the Neurology Unit at Molinette Hospital (Turin).
