"Orizzonti", research at Politecnico tells its own story
Orizzonti is the new threshold to enter the world of research at Politecnico di Torino. A digital space designed to share the challenges and achievements arising among the University's laboratories and classrooms, in a brand new format harmonized with the most advanced communication tools. From energy to space, from architecture to biomedicine, and from artificial intelligence to mobility, an editorial product that weaves living stories, showcasing the beauty of science and its applications. To do so, a series of integrated communicative modes will be used. The project, created with the support of the agency Zadig, is a web longform with multimedia content, also relying on social media, and ready to further insights and variations on the different channels employed.
Giuliana Mattiazzo, Vice Rector for Scientific and Technological Innovation, and Fabrizio Pirri, Vice Rector for Research Model and Infrastructure Development, illustrate the project: "We want to present Politecnico’s research fields with an appealing format, aimed at the general public, companies and institutions. We focus on people, researchers, faculty and teams, addressing all the challenges and evolutions of research projects. Each monthly column will not exhaust a specific research theme," they continue, "the narration on a given topic will be enriched and deepened over time because, by definition, research is never-ending”.
"We choose an innovative and up-to-date format: the Longform – adds Vice Rector for PoliTO Communication and Promotion Silvia Barbero – a digital story developed with a dynamic and interactive layout, enriched with multimedia content such as videos, infographics, photographs and texts, readable by scrollytelling”. The project, conceived as a full web insight, is part of an integrated communication strategy, which also includes specific content on social media and other channels, ensuring consistency and narrative flexibility via different languages and formats.
Orizzonti is a vision that stretches into the future, yet always beginning with people: researchers who bring talent, imagination and rigour into play to go one step further. A chance to look far ahead, every month, together with Politecnico di Torino.
