A delegation from ADA University at Politecnico di Torino
On 3, 4 and 5 June, a delegation from ADA University, Azerbaijan, visited Politecnico in the framework of the Italy-Azerbaijan University initiative for consolidating cooperation and research activities between the two institutions in the framework of the Bachelor’s Degree programme in Electrical Engineering, the first among the degree programmes born from the collaboration between the two universities. The School of IT and Engineering Dean Abzatdin Adamov guided the delegation composed of academic and administrative staff of the ADA University.
The delegation was welcomed by Rector Stefano Paolo Corgnati together with Vice Rector for Education Fulvio Corno and Vice Rector for International Affairs Alberto Sapora. During the meeting, chaired by Project Manager of the Italy-Azerbaijan University initiative Aldo Canova, Aggregate Vice Rector for Technology Transfer Gianmario Pellegrino held the presentation “Polito Technology Transfer Ecosystem” about the innovation and the relation with companies.
Meetings and visits to research infrastructures also enriched the three-day programme. The delegation had the opportunity to visit several PoliTO laboratories and research centres: the Energy Center (Decision Theater and Hardware-in-the-Loop Laboratory), with a visit organized by Professor Ettore Francesco Bompard as representative of the research group and guided by Professor Tao Huang of the Department of Energy “Galileo Ferraris”-DENERG; the Interdepartmental Center PolitoBIOMed Lab, presented by its Coordinator, Professor Andrea Cereatti; the Pvzen Lab, whose activities were illustrated by Professors Filippo Spertino and Alessandro Ciocia of DENERG; and the laboratories belonging to the “Materials and Processes for Micro and Nano Technologies - MP4MNT” group, accompanied by Professors Sergio Ferrero and Giulia Mossotti of the Department of Applied Science and Technology-DISAT.
The aim of these visits was the development of joint research activities, facilitating the collaboration among the research groups and establishing labs and joint research infrastructures. PoliTO labs features and functionalities will serve as a model for the creation of synergic structures at ADA university.
The delegation of ADA University had the opportunity to visit Polito main Campus guided by colleagues of Students & Welcome Hub of the Life Division.
In addition, the visit was the occasion for PoliTO and ADA administrative staff to discuss and align their procedures for the administrative and academic management of ADA students at PoliTO for 1 semester mobility in the framework of the Double Degree Agreement with the aim of issuing the Degree diploma in Electrical Engineering at the end of the Bachelor’s Degree program.
Furthermore, meetings with the following units were organized to share best practices and to establish new synergies for future collaboration: International Affairs Department – INCAM; Student Careers and Right to Education Division (Registrar’s Office Unit and Recruitment Unit) of the Students and Education Department – STUDI; Career Hub of the Research, Technology Transfer and Innovation Department – RIMIN.
At the end of the visit, a cooking class was organized by the Energy Department "Galileo Ferraris" –DENERG involving ADA delegation and academic and administrative staff of the Department.
