Biography

Lorenzo Innocenti is a Machine Learning Researcher at the LINKS Foundation, where he works on deep learning techniques for Earth Observation, including image segmentation, regression, and the use of foundation models. He holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Florence, both awarded with highest honors. In 2025, he began his PhD in Computer and Control Engineering at Politecnico di Torino within the Database and Data Mining Group (DBDMG). His research focuses on developing Artificial Intelligence models for heterogeneous spatiotemporal data, ranging from satellite imagery to sensor time series and textual information, with the goal of improving predictive capabilities and supporting applications in climate change, environmental monitoring, and disaster management.
