Biography

Francesco Fiore earned his Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering with honors from the Politecnico di Torino, where he focused on the synthesis and characterization of anti-inflammatory PLGA-based nanocarriers aimed at the potential treatment of myocardial infarction (MI). He further advanced his research on post-MI regenerative strategies by developing electrospun membranes with controlled drug release properties, designed to provide electro-mechanical coupling with the surrounding tissue. In November 2024, he began his PhD in Bioengineering and Medical Surgical Sciences (40th cycle), focusing on the fabrication of innovative and multifunctional drug delivery systems to promote in situ regeneration across various anatomical districts. His research primarily focuses on the development of hydrogels, electrospun membranes, and carriers that modulate therapeutics within organ-specific windows.
