Inclusion and social cohesion

The thematic area includes research and planning actions that place the person at the centre as a bearer of abilities and rights and operate at the various scales of the product, service, process, system and built and natural environment These are actions guided by the “inclusion” and “cohesion” processes between individuals and groups, oriented towards health, well-being, self-determination, active participation in community life and the solidarity economy.

Research areas

The thematic macro-area is divided into sub-areas of research and design the disciplines of the doctorate deal with in an interdisciplinary way:

  • permanent and temporary disability;
  • urban accessibility and overcoming of architectural and perceptive barriers;
  • co-design of services and products for marginalized people;
  • services and processes for inclusive citizenship and active ageing;
  • processes of solidarity economy and community welfare.

  • PE8_3 - Civil engineering, architecture, maritime/hydraulic engineering, geotechnics, waste treatment
