The monitoring system of a process often makes a large amount of information available, both because numerous sensors can be used and because of sensors that make a lot of information available, such as for example thermographies, images, spectroscopic analyses. In this research activity we investigate the application of PCA-PLS methods for in-line and off-line monitoring of a process, both developing software sensors and statistical process controllers to identify out-of-specification (control charts). The methodologies investigated range from NIR & Raman spectroscopy, to image analysis, including thermographic ones, to the combination of various sensors available for process monitoring.
