Biography

MA in Architecture, MS and Ph.D. in Territorial planning and real estate market, he is Professor of Technique and Urban Planning (ICAR/20) at the Politecnico di Torino, where he coordinated the inter-university Ph.D. program in Urban and regional development from 2014 to 2020. He was previously Deputy Director of the Inter-University Department of Regional and Urban Studies and Planning (DIST) and Coordinator of the Ph.D. program in Environment and Territory. He has to his credit more than 300 publications, including 16 monographs, around 70 scientific articles, more than a hundred contributions in volume and more than 50 contributions in conference proceedings (see the complete list at: https://iris.polito.it/cris/rp/rp05802#.X8e40C1aaw4). He participates and has participated, also in coordination roles, in various international and national researches, in particular within the European program ESPON - European Spatial Planning Observation Network (https://www.espon.eu). As part of the AESOP - Association of European Schools of Planning (www.aesop-planning.eu), he was a member of the "Council of Representatives" (CoRep) between 2005 and 2012 , and member of the "Best Published Paper Committee" between 2013 and 2020. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the magazine "European Planning Studies" (Print ISSN: 0965-4313; Online ISSN: 1469-5944; Taylor & Francis), and of the journal "European Journal of Spatial Development" (ISSN 1650-9544; Nordregio); is a member of the Editorial Committee of the book series: "Cities, Urban Governance and Planning", ed. Policy Press; "Strumenti urbanistici", ed. Franco Angeli; "Studi urbani e regionali", ed. Gangemi; "Territorio, pianificazione, ambiente", ed. Altralinea. Finally he is a member of the INU (National Institute of Urban Planning) and SIU (Italian Society of Urbanists).
