Call for Application Fellowship Program 2026–2027 | Columbia University

Columbia University has a distinguished legacy of knowledge, discovery and scholarly innovation in multiple disciplines.
Their Italian Academy for advanced studies in America sponsors a prestigious Fellowship Program, especially renowned for advancing knowledge and learning in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences.

Applications from exceptional scholars from all countries are welcome. Application materials include:

• a CV with a full list of publications
• a copy of the PhD degree
• a research proposal not exceeding 1300 words
• three letters of recommendation

Applications from early career scholars with a PhD within the last three years are particularly encouraged. Only a very limited number of fellowships are available for senior level scholars. Applications from former Italian Academy Fellows will not be considered.
All candidates are expected to identify in their research proposal the faculty member(s) in the Columbia departments closest to their discipline with whom they will collaborate while Fellows of the Academy.
