Abstract

Modern engineering applications increasingly demand precise control over elastic wave propagation using devices that are significantly smaller than the wavelengths they are designed to manipulate. This need is particularly acute in fields such as seismic engineering, underwater acoustics, or gravity water wave control where the interplay between large wavelengths and stringent constraints on space, weight, and material efficiency creates noteworthy design challenges. Addressing this need is essential for advancing next-generation technologies capable of delivering high performance in environments where traditional designs often fall short.
