The general goal of the research project URGET VADEMECUM 2030-50 is to tackle both local pollution and global carbon neutrality issues in the urban context regarding mobility and related transport systems in the short, medium and long term. This goal is pursued by proposing new technological solutions, clustering real data, quantifying potential modal shift towards less pollutant solutions for satisfying mobility and –most of all- by developing an innovative assessment methodology aimed at defining tailor-made, place-based, as well as unprecedented solutions for decarbonized, sustainable urban mobility. This is in line with the objective of climate-neutral transport by 2050, pursued by the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy (2020) adopted in the framework of the European Green Deal, the New European Urban Mobility Framework (2021), and the other policies and intermediate targets set by the EU for 2030 about sustainable cities and transport, taking into account Directive 50/2008. The proposed methodology, based on the combination of consolidated evaluation tools that are re-interpreted in an up-to-date way, will support decision-making and fund-raising by selecting and calibrating different measures to reduce/eliminate transport-related pollution and GHG emissions.
