Shaila Thakur

I am a postdoctoral fellow at Politecnico di Torino since February 2022. I have been working in the field of Nanomaterial synthesis and applications for more than 10 years. I received my B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering in 2010 from National Institute of Technology Raipur, and my M.Tech and Ph. D. in 2014 and 2017, respectively in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. I have an experience of applying nanomaterials in different sectors: biomedicine, wastewater treatment and photocatalysis. I have attended 9 scientific conferences (national and international), authored 11 articles and 1 book chapter. I am an active member of scientific professional associations such as Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) and American Chemical Society (ACS). My research focuses on probing the interface between the synthetic and biological worlds, and spans the areas of nanotechnology, microbiology, and molecular biology.
