Martin Petek obtained a BSc in Electrical Engineering from University of Ljubljana in 2017 and a MSc in Electrophysics from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2020. His master thesis, titled “Modelling of passive intermodulation in RF systems,” was completed under the supervision of Dr. Christos Kolitsidas. Since 2021, he is a PhD candidate in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications (DET), with a focus on developing numerical methods for glide-symmetric periodic structures, under the supervision of Prof. Francesca Vipiana, Prof. Oscar Quevedo-Teruel, and Prof. Jorge Alberto Tobon Vasquez. Glide-symmetric structures are consisting of two parallel plates, symmetric with respect to a translation by half of a period and a mirroring. They can be used to control the propagation of waves, either for implementing an equivalent refractive index or for creating a bandgap. Due to their excellent properties, they have found use in developing of the next generation of antennas and other RF components.
