Biografia

Marco Domaneschi is currently Associate Prof. at DISEG of POLITO, where he teaches Earthquake and Structural Engineering (from 2016). Formerly, Research Associate and Contract Prof. of Structural Eng. at POLIMI (2007-2016), professional struct. eng. and consultant for dams, bridges and tunneling, structural and geotechnical analysis (1999-2003, 2013-2016), R&D consultant in industrial mechanical eng. (2006-2015). He has taught over 6 different courses in Structural Mechanics, Structural and Seismic Eng. at undergraduate and graduate level at POLIMI and POLITO in 2013-2022. He had his Ph.D. from University of Pavia, and was visiting at UPC Barcelona and Princeton University. He is Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member of several Journals. He is Reviewer for more than 40 int. journals. Speaker, Sessions Chair, Editorial Board Member and Organizer in more than 20 int. conferences. He is owner and inventor of patent granted for industrial invention “Negative stiffness modular device for vertical seismic isolation". Takuji Kobori Prize 2014 and other Awards for Presentations of Research. He supports/ed PIs in coordinating EU ERC Projects (ongoing and past), and has/d scientific responsibility of research programs (ongoing and past). Authored more than 70 journal and 130 int. conf. papers, with 2 books and some books' chapt. He is Member of EACS, IABMAS, ISHMII, SPONSE, ITCOLD. Bibliometric (Scopus – July 2024): 179 doc., 2066 total cit., h-index 28. National Academic Qualification as Full Prof. of Struct. Eng. (July 2024) Included from 2022 in the Stanford’s list of the top 2% most-cited scientists published by Elsevier.
