• Prognostics and Health Management and high-fidelity modeling of robotic systems, both industrial and collaborative, with a particular focus on critical components such as the harmonic drive.
• Study of novel prognostics and health management (PHM) solutions for actuation systems employed in aerospace applications, such as electro-hydraulic and electro-mechanical flight control systems, active dampers for vibration control in helicopters. Study of the ball screw mechanism and its degradations and faults for model-based PHM. Past activities have seen the collaboration with foreign institutions (INSA Tolouse) and companies (Collins Aerospace, Leonardo, Elettronica Aster, Lufthansa Technik).
