Biography

Anna Carbone MSc Engineering (1988) PhD in Physics (1993)holds a permanent position as Associate Professor at the Physics Department of Politecnico of Torino. She directs the Noise and Fluctuations Laboratory (http://www.polito.it/noiselab). Her research activity deals with the experimental and theoretical analysis of noise and stochastic processes in different physical systems. She has authored more than 50 articles appeared in International Journals of Physics and Proceedings of International Conferences. She is co-editor of several special issues of the international journals: Physica A (Elsevier) European Physical Journal B (Springer) Infrared Physics and Technology (Elsevier) Journal of Statistical Mechanics: Theory and Experiment (IOP) Central European Journal of Physics (Springer) She is member of the Advisory Committees of the International Conferences: QSIP (Quantum Structure Infrared Photodetectors Int. Conf.), SIGMAPHI (Statistical Physics Int. Conf.), UPON (Unsolved Problems on Noise), APFA (Applications of Physics in Financial Analysis). She is member of the National Institute of Matter Physics (INFM), of the National Consortium of Matter Structure (CNISM), of the American Physical Society (APS) and of the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE). In January 2009, she has been nominated member of the Board of the "Nonlinear and Statistical Physics (NSP Board)" of the European Physical Society (EPS).
