Abstract
The project is dedicated to the development of well-controlled frontal polymerization routes for (i) the rapid production of high-performance thermosets, (ii) the reduction of energy (improving carbon foot-print) and production costs and (iii) realizing higher through-put rates by reducing cure cycles. At the same time the new curing process via frontal polymerization should be compatible with classic manu-facturing techniques (e.g. vacuum infusion and filament winding) and should produce high-quality thermoset materials with thermo-mechanical properties that are comparable to or even better than traditional epoxy-amine or epoxy-anhydride thermosets.
