This proposed action is underpinned by a collective partners’ desire to develop greater cross and inter-disciplinary understanding of the technical challenges of urban drone integration and operation. To fulfil the potential of drones in replacing the human action in scenarios that are hazardous due to fire, extreme weather or wind, a significant step forward in the understanding of the drones’ performance under these extreme conditions is needed. The consortium will leverage an innovative approach to provide the policymakers and the relevant stakeholders with the necessary tools to estimate the risks of the operations of drones in last/middle mile operations. The activity will lead to a unique facility at European level for the analysis, certification and development of drones for the urban operations.
