Abstract
The project HiEFFICIENT will boost the design and development of the next generation’s highly efficient electrified vehicle systems, charging infrastructure and test-systems through efficient, highly integrated and modularized power electronics, securing Europe's top position in industry and research along the value chain of vehicle-, semiconductor- and test-system- design and manufacturing. HiEFFICIENT aims at the integration of wide-bandgap power electronics. This will be investigated on component (e.g., System on Chip, System In Package), subsystem (e.g. embedding of power electronics components in PCBs) and system level (e.g. traction inverter with on-board-charger) to achieve a significant volume reduction of up to 40% compared to the current state of the art, using wide-bandgap semiconductors.
