Biography

Full Professor in the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications at Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and vice-coordinator of Photonext, the Interdipartimental Center for Applied Photonics of Politecnico di Torino. My research focuses on optoelectronic devices, with particular expertise in modeling semiconductor laser sources and photonic integrated circuits. My research aims to integrate modeling with device design, experimental characterization, and practical applications. I regard modeling as a tool to guide experiments, provide deeper insight into experimental results, and inspire new device concepts. Much of my work is conducted in close collaboration with experimental research laboratories and industrial partners, ensuring strong connections between theory, experimentation, and real-world innovation
