Biography

The ersonal career, since 1998, after the graduation in Mechanical Engineering (1993, B&MSc) and PhD (1997) at Politecnico di Torino, as assistant (1998-2002), associate (2002-2013) and full professor (2013-today), has been developed in two Universities, namely the University of Udine (2001-08) and the Politecnico di Torino (1998-01; 2008-today). He also has and had several responsibilities, in terms of number of taught courses at B and MSc degree, respectively, and of institutional roles, as technical director of the Master in "Project management and System Engineering" (2007-08), of dean of the school of Mechanical Engineering (2015-18) and of Director of the graduate school (2018-24), and currently of rector's advisor for the internationalisation of doctoral education and coordinator of the european alliance "Unite!" (2025-2027) doctoral school (UDS). His international reputation and scientific production (he appears in 2023, 24, 25 within the top2% world scientists identified by Elsevier) are documented by several invited lectures, proposed at Universities and Research Centers. His research activity focuses upon Structural Mechatronics and Micromechatronics (MEMS), Rotor dynamics for vehicles, industrial equipment, space systems, steelmaking plants, and upon the Systems Engineering, being deployed in international, indusrial, national and regional projects, including the Circular design issues, as matter of implementation of circular economy. Those expertises allowed him contributing to fundation of some laboratories for Mechatronics (1993), Spint testing (1997) and Industrial Systems Engineering and Design (2020) at Politecnico di Torino and of Ubiquitous and Pervasive Technologies, at University of Udine (2005). All those activities are described by publications, on journals, presented at conferences, and some books dealing with Mechatronics (Nova P., 2015), Structural Mechatronics (CET, 2016) and Systems Engineering (Springer, 2018).
