Biography

Elena Campagnoli received the M.Sc. degree in Nuclear Engineering from Politecnico di Torino and the Ph.D. degree in Energetics from the same University. She has been working since 1999 as a researcher at the Energy Department of the Politecnico di Torino where she teaches the course of "Fundamentals of Engineering Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer". Her research activity mainly concerns the analysis and modelling of thermal transport phenomena and the measurement of thermo-physical properties (thermal diffusivity, thermal conductivity, radiative properties) of both traditional and innovative materials and recently also of biological tissues. Since 1999, she has been a member of the AIPT (Italian Association of Thermophysical Properties), of which she was appointed president in 2016 with a three-year term renewed in 2019. In the last decade, she has also carried out research for the development of new methodologies for the management of heat and mass transfer phenomena to support the design of new aircraft engines. As part of this activity, she was principal investigator of several research projects and contracts.
