Biography

After graduating in Electronic Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino (1993), he conducted research with IBM (1994) and then became a Researcher in the scientific discipline of Industrial Engineering Design and Methods (1995-2003). Since 2004, he has been an Associate Professor of Production Technology and Systems at the Department of Management and Production Engineering (DIGEP) at the Politecnico di Torino. He is a member of the colleges of "Management and Production Engineering" (IGEP) and "Mechanical, Aerospace, and Automotive Engineering" (IMAA), where he teaches in the field of production technologies, processes, and organization. His research areas range from design methods to production technologies, process control, and quality management. His diverse areas of interest have included methodologies based on Product Lifecycle Management and production process control methods, particularly in the area of ??Manufacturing Execution Systems and Enterprise Resources Planning. The need to manage complex and integrated systems has led to the investigation of various organizational methodologies, particularly the Lean approach, favored for its problem-focused approach, scalability, and the integration of human resources in solution development. The new proposal of Industry 4.0/5.0, and the resulting technological and organizational redefinition of the enterprise, has provided a new field of application for research into production processes and systems. A former expert at ISO/TC213, he is a member of IFIP-WG5.1 and participated in the GTTS3 work at CFI and AITEM. At the Politecnico di Torino, he collaborated on the DISLO-MAN and HUMANS projects and coordinated the HOME project of the Regional Intelligent Factory Technology Platform. At the European level, he participated in the CAPTNSEE project of the EIT manufacturing platform.
