Impact of posture and gravity on the cardiovascular system: a validated multiscale modeling approach for ground-based and spaceflight applications

Research topic

Multiscale cardiovascular modeling for clinical and aerospace applications

Research presentation

Research interests

Computational Fluid Dynamics

Matteo Fois obtained both his Bachelor and Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin (IT), with a specialization in Fluid Dynamics. He developed his Master Thesis on Computational Haemodynamics in collaboration with the Institut de Mathématiques de Bordeaux (FR). He is enrolled as a PhD student in Aerospace Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Turin, currently working on multiscale cardiovascular modelling for clinical (assessing impact of cardiac arrhythmias on global and organ-specific hemodynamics, e.g. on the coronary circulation) and aerospace (investigate consequences of altered gravity, that is micro- and hypergravity, and spaceflight on the human cardiovascular system) applications.
