Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) | Aerospace Innovations Driven by Artificial Intelligence
From 2 to 11 September 2026, Politecnico di Torino will host the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Aerospace Innovations Driven by Artificial Intelligence”, an international programme dedicated to the applications of Artificial Intelligence in the aerospace sector.
Coordinated by PoliTO in collaboration with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Spain) and INSA Lyon (France), the programme will bring together students from different European countries in Turin for an international experience combining online activities and an intensive in-person week, scheduled from 7 to 11 September 2026, preceded by a virtual component on 2 and 3 September.
The initiative was created to provide participants with a multidisciplinary perspective on the transformations AI is bringing to the aerospace sector, addressing not only technical aspects, but also the ethical, legal, environmental, and social implications of innovation. Thanks to the Piedmont industrial ecosystem, one of Europe's most significant in the aerospace field, students will also have the opportunity to visit local companies and engage directly with industry professionals and specialized stakeholders.
The educational curriculum adopts innovative and highly experiential learning methodologies. Lectures will be complemented by challenge-based learning activities, group work, co-design workshops, practical sessions, and discussions with academic and industry experts. Participants will be asked to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems, applying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning tools to various fields of aerospace engineering. Furthermore, thanks to the synergy with PoliTO Sporty Campus and Consulta Giovani, a pilot project will be launched to integrate sports into university education as a driver for socialization, community, and belonging, while promoting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. Thanks to the new facilities within our Campus, students will be able to try out various sports disciplines guided by instructors and assistants who will coach them in basic techniques and short game sessions. The initiative will be completed by an information session dedicated to PoliTO's sports opportunities, featuring testimonials from student-athletes and a participatory workshop aimed at sharing sports experiences across the partner universities and collecting ideas to formalize this type of activity.
The programme includes an entire afternoon dedicated to sports activities on the new courts built within the Campus.
The Blended Intensive Programme awards 3 ECTS credits and is open to students enrolled in Aerospace Engineering degree courses at partner universities participating in the Erasmus+ program.
