  Emilio Repossi

Emilio Repossi   was born in Milan on 19th June 1876. Repossi graduated in Natural Sciences at the University of Pavia. In 1903 he was appointed as professor at the Civic Museum of Natural Sciences of Milan and assistant to the chair of Mineralogy and Materials at the Politecnico di Milano.

Still in Milan he got the qualification for university teaching in Mineralogy. In 1920 he got the chair of Mineralogy in Cagliari, where he taught also Geology for three years. In 1923 Repossi was called by the University of Turin as a professor in Mineralogy, director of the Mine Institute and professor of Physic Geography. In 1929, after the death of professor Alessandro Roccati, the School of Engineering in Turin assigned him the teaching of Mineralogy and Litology, an office he kept for two other years, as he died on 25th October 1931.

Repossi had several offices: member of the Lombard Institute (1923), of the Academy of Agriculture (1927), of the Academy of Sciences of Turin (1925) and of the National Academy of Lincei (1928).
