2009 marks the 150th anniversary of Politecnico di Torino's foundation and its long-standing tradition has been the basis for the reputation it enjoys today as one of the leading technical universities in Italy and throughout the world. In fact according to Jiao Tong University's league table, we are in 7th place in Europe for engineering studies, and come first in Italy for internationalization and for technical studies according to league tables compiled by Vision and Censis.
Our success is confirmed by the high number of students that apply every year to Politecnico di Torino from all over Italy and from abroad (33% of our students come from regions other than Piedmont, and 12% come from foreign countries). Students choose Politecnico di Torino because of its serious approach, selectivity, and also because it is challenging and rewards students for merit, providing the basis for a successful career. A high percentage - 80% - of our graduates find employment within one year from the graduation, compared with a national average of 62%.

Students who are interested in research and are looking for a thorough education which is relevant to the job market will be attracted to what we have to offer at Politecnico di Torino. Our university provides vocational education that goes further than technical knowledge and requires a strong commitment and hard work from students.

We are the university with the highest percentage of foreign students in Italy and our students can choose to study for their degree in English. Our links with some of the most prestigious universities around the world enable us to make periods of study abroad available to our students, and these qualifications are recognized in many countries.
Politecnico di Torino offers a multicultural study environment and has a close relationship to businesses, who share our premises and work with us on many projects giving students the opportunity to gain work experience during their years at university. The cittadella politecnica is a new campus area where research, teaching and training go hand in hand with student services as well as financial and cultural activities. The Business Research Center inside the cittadella produces cutting-edge research for international corporations while the Venture Capital Section gives research the backing it needs to develop. Over the last ten years more than 100 business start-ups have been launched with the support of the I3P Incubator, which is also in the cittadella area. Newly-built facilities include lecture rooms, study areas, the new student's canteen, and a new sports center which will be opening soon.

Politecnico di Torino is a real research university, where training and research work together to meet the needs of the local area and economy and above all of the students. It offers a unique experience for students who intend to seize all the opportunities the future can offer.
