POLITECNICO COMMEMORATIVE STAMP (18 May 1998)

Issue of an ordinary stamp belonging to the series "Schools and Universities" dedicated to the Politecnico di Torino (authorized by decree 13 February 1997 and published in the Official Gazette no. 57 of 10 March 1997)

 

On 18 May 1998 an ordinary stamp belonging to the series "Schools and Universities", dedicated to the Politecnico di Torino and worth 800 lire, was issued by the Italian Postal Services.
The stamp was printed by the Stamp Workshop of the State Printing Plant and Mint in copperplate, on fluorescent paper without a watermark; paper size: mm 40x30; print size: mm 36x26; indentation: 14x13¼; colours: monochrome; edition: three million copies; sheet: fifty copies.
The illustration shows Valentino Castle, historical seat of the Regia Scuola di Applicazione per gli Ingegneri since 1861. The Politecnico seal is on the bottom right hand side. The stamp is completed with the captions "POLITECNICO DI TORINO", "ITALIA", and "800".
