In accordance with government reforms, the Politecnico di Torino brought in new educational regulations in the 1999-2000 session. This established the credit system, and reorganised degree courses into two new levels: the Bachelor's degree, Laurea (3 years, 180 credits) and the Master of Science degree, Laurea Magistrale (2 more years, 120 credits).
