The Third School of Engineering - Information Technologies - is the centre of the teaching activities related to electronics, computing, telecommunications and telematics, methods of communication, automation, mechatronics, nanotechnologies for ICT and physical engineering. Its main centre is in Corso Duca degli Abruzzi, Turin. It was fonded in 1999, to meet local needs. Some courses are held in the regional campuses of Verrès, Mondovì and Alessandria. There are 100 teaching staff and 50 research staff who provide 480 lessons each year attended by more than 4,000 students (over 30% of whom are from outside Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta). Each year around 500 students graduate from the Third School of Engineering. The Third School of Engineering has the following laboratory facilities: the experimental teaching laboratory - (LADISPE) (electronics and measurement section and automation and computers section), the computer science laboratory (LABINF), the telecommunications laboratory, the robotics laboratory (LABROB), the teaching and research laboratory - (LABDAR), the Multimedia Laboratory (LADIMU), and the interdepartmental laboratories: materials and devices for electronics - (LIMADEL) and Mechatronics (LIM). |
