Interdepartmental Centres were founded to provide complex services of interest to the teaching departments and the administration of the Politecnico di Torino.
At present there are two main types of Interdepartmental Centres.

• Centres whose functions are important to the organisation of the whole university:
  C.I.S.D.A. Architecture Interdepartmental Teaching Services Centre
  BIBLI Politecnico Library System
  CeLM Distance Learning and Multimedia Services
• Centres for the organisation of teaching and/or research in a specific geographical area:
  Ce.S.Al. University Centre, Alessandria
  Ce.S.Mo. University Centre, Mondovì
  Ce.I.D.A. Automotive Engineering University Centre
  GEACVER Second School of Engineering University Centre, Vercelli
• or in one specific field of research:
  CSPP Prototyping Centre
  CEQUA Politecnico Centre for Quality

There are also specific services such as the CLA - University Language Centre, whose aim is to promote the main European languages and improve language-learning facilities, and the CEMED, Museum and Historical Archive which manages the historical aspect of the Politecnico di Torino.
